Sand Animation

One of the discoveries that I made on the web today was "Sand Animation". It is this type of art that is performed by an artist above a lit projector allowing the spectators to see what is being done. As I was watching the video, it seems like a story was being told through the sand. I think its pretty amazing. Hope you guys enjoy it.

I am NOT my Hair

Did I miss something this year?
Is CHOPPING IN this year?
Why is it that some many women are cutting their hair either to
Emulate a Wannabe-Mohawk or just to take it all out?
Personally, I would not do it,
But I applaud those who were brave enough to do it.

Hum...Hair.
It's amazing how we let it control us.
Trips to the hair salon,
Spending lots of money when buying products,
Washing-drying-curling-blow drying-pressing,
Women go to great extend to LOOK and FEEL beautiful.

But I dont think I'll Chop it all off.
Maybe if I was born with nothing,
OR Maybe if I had the guts to do it,
It would be a possibility.....
but hum-hum.

Weezy said it, "Long Hair, Don't Care"
Maybe for now, I'll keep my hair and take care of it ;)

But KUDOS to the ladies out there doing the chopping-cutting-going natural styles.

Find YOUR hairstyle Ladies,
Dont let the hair DEFINE YOU,
Stay Stylish,
Gigi

Wings of Forgiveness

Forgiveness is such a big word, action and commitment.
Sometimes, people hurt us so deep that we feel like we taste the pain.
Sometimes, people break us without knowing it.
They scar us to the point that healing is long and grueling.
But the truth is, in life, it has to get worse before it gets better.
If you were hurt sometimes in life, don't frown upon it.
Embrace what had happened and be glad that you overcame it.
But the biggest thing to do is to forgive whoever did you wrong, and LET IT go.
Keeping grudge only makes life a whole lot unpleasant but it makes you a lot less happier.
So people my food for thought is FORGIVE.

Whenever I think of forgiveness, I listen to "Wings of Forgiveness" by India Arie.
Listen to the song, maybe you guys will also like it.

So readers, stay positive,
Forgive but DONT Forget,
So that you can learn from your mistakes.

As humans we tend to always remember what people have done to us,
But sometimes, letting go is the best way to go.

Farewell...

Today the world said their goodbyes to Michael Jackson.
As I watched the memorial, I got a picture of Michael,
The man; not the iconic pop superstar.
This man is said to have had a heart of gold,
A great sense of humor and immense sensitivity.
What touched me the most though was the fact
That you could tell and even feel that he was a great father
Through the words and tears of his daughter Paris.
So in this day, say a prayer for his kids.
Grown people can make it and survive many tragedies.
Children however never forget and may not surpass some events.
Therefore keep those kids in your prayers,
Not only don't they have a mother but
They also lost their father.
Life doesn't get harder than that.

Here's are the words of a brave little girl.

In Memoriam: Michael Jackson 1958-2009

Stay Blessed,

Insomnia

Don't you hate it when you cant fall asleep?
You are entirely prepared, and yet

The main element seems to evade you.
Pjs? check. Covers? Check. Tummy full? Check.

Sleep....no response.

It's like whenever you are ready to lay your head and fall asleep,
Mr. Sleep don't want to be anywhere near you.

I think its highly annoying, and painfully irritating.

If you are fully ready and orchestrated for a good session of silent snoring,
You should be able to have it.
Then again, in life not everything goes as planned.

The moment you feel you could use some sleep,

Homegirl Insomnia steps in and lays in your bed

And mess up the whole mood.

It's a never ending game of hide-and-go seek
Where the more you chase that sleeping feeling,
The further away it goes.

So I guess, I'll stare at the ceiling,

Think of stars that I wish I could see,

Count backwards, reminisce over some good times,
Talk with God,
Until this uninvited guest named Insomnia

Goes away, allowing Mr. Sleep to come lay in my bed.

Right where it belongs.

Here's the song "Insomnia" by Craig David. He seems to be having some issues with homegirl Insomnia too :)

Longing For...

Deep inside we all what to be special to someone.

We long for the undivided love and attention of one person.

That one person who can make us feel like we are the only thing that matters.

We long for burning passion, and yet security.

We do not wish to be on a pink cloud because that feeling would only ephemeral.

We wish to be on a cloud nine where the feeling would be everlasting.

We long to be the King/Queen of somebody.

We long to have someone give the world to us and be willing to share it with us.

In the words of Jah Cure, we want a love that is so real that it makes us give in....

So whatever it is that you are longing for, if you do not have it just be patient....

Your King/Queen may be lost in the forest

....it's only a matter of time til he/ she arrives and make your longing a reality

Here's one of my favorite songs: "Longing For" by Jah Cure whom inspired me to write that note: (thats not the official video, it's just the song...So Let the Music Do the Talking)

Battefield

All is fair in love and war.
Love is a battlefield and war is all about the battles.
Once you are in love your are fighting to protect your fragile heart.
And you are fighting for that special someone's love that you yearn for.
Its just a matter of choosing the right captain and to trust him or her enough to the core.
Love is not just the butterflies, the memories, and the good times.
It's also the ups and downs, fights and difficulties that come along.
Its all about sticking to the battlefield and giving it your best.
Love is a battlefield but dont let that restrain you from entering the war.
The victory awaiting you at the end of the journey is way more fulfulling
And worth the scars and tears that you may shed.
But just remember it takes two to win that battle,
So be a wise general, pick your captain...
And get your armor cuz love is a battlefield.

Here is the video "Battlefield" that got me to write this post. Enjoy!

Yours Truly,
Gigi
