My Anthems for March :)

Lately so much garbage has been played on the radio
That I forget there is more to music then ridiculous hooks
But once in awhile, true music is being broadcasted...
Like this song by Adele "Rolling in the Deep"!
And... even this new song by Diddy "I am coming home":)

Super Powers....

Sometimes I wish I had powers.

Not ridiculous powers like being able to fly like Superman.

But meaningful powers with a purpose bigger than myself.  

But powers that could allow me to put 

A permanent smile on my mother's face.

Or  powers that would allow me to be prepared

When life decided to smack me in the face.

Or better yet the power to put a smile on this old lady whom I met the other day. 

This lady had NO ONE.

Literally, she had nobody..

No Husband, no family, no children, no friends...

And I wanted to take her pain away...

Even it was for five minutes...

Maybe it's just me.

But I have noticed that

There's always a little truth behind every "jk",
A little knowledge behind every "idk",
A little emotion behind every "idc"
&& a little pain behind every "Im Okay".

So, sometimes I wish I had the power to take pain away.

Even if it is momentarily..

Because every once in awhile,

Everybody deserves to smile with all your being,

And not worry about a thing.

So maybe I am foolish

But that's the power I wish I had.

The power to take pain away.

The power to allow people to smile with their heart.

Smile with Your Heart :)

Man-Eating Sharks!!!!

Friends.

They make you laugh.

They make you cry.

But at the end of the day,

Some friends are the real deal.

So if you have the real deal friends,

Just show them some appreciation.

It's a world of sharks out there...

There are more backstabbers 

Than back scratchers.

...I'm just saying

Be aware of these sharks!

Baby Steps

Sometimes I sit and wonder about what exactly is my purpose in life.

I am certain many of us have this same moment 

Where the future seems like a land of confusion, change,

And UNCERTAINTY.

And because of this uncertainty, 

Some of us go through a time in our life

Where "You're trying to act older and mature

But you really have no idea what you're doing"

And this morning I realized that 

It's okay to be scared.

It's okay be uncertain of what tomorrow holds.

It's okay to stumble while trying achieve something

It's even okay NOT to know what to do.

Because life is a journey with twists and turns, ups and downs.

And before you learn how to run, you have to baby steps.

So I am taking baby steps.

And readers, if you feel like you need to take baby steps,

IT'S OKAY.

You've got a whole journey to catch up on running :)

All you have to do is believe in yourself.

And you can and WILL acheive any goal you set for yourself.

Be...GOOD.

It annoys me when people can't accomplish a given task the right way.

If you're a friend, be a GOOD friend.

If you're a teacher, be a GOOD teacher.

If you have a job, be a GOOD employee.

Most importantly, if you mess up

Don't blame the whole world.

Just admit you did a mistake and 

Try to fix it.

Really it's THAT simple.

All we need to do in our personal lives is to

Try our best in everything you try to accomplish.

"Whatever you are, be a GOOD one"

Will Power

They say some things in life are impossible to acheive.

I say "If there is a will, there's a way"

I have lived by this motto for the past four years,

And truth be told, it is true!

So readers, my food for thought for today is

If you want something, you will find a way to get it.

Find the determination to acheive that something,

And find the best way to make it happen!

 

So Go for it.

With no fear.

With all your will.

JUST GO FOR IT.

True Beauty

The other day, I was walking around the mall and

I noticed that our society is very superficial.

When you walk into a store, they have a definite picture 

Of what they want us to believe is beauty.

And that annoyed me.

I am sorry but who are they to define beauty?

When did it become obligatory for us to look all the same to be beautiful?

Who gave them the right to set guidelines on what is beautiful?

Since when being skinny was the IT of being beautiful?

Or better yet,

Since when having a certain nose classified a person as beautiful? 

Or my least favorite, 

Since when did the color of your skin become a criteria of beauty?

It has gotten to the point where 

We start to judge people based on these given criteria.

I will be honest and say that I did it the other day

And classified a random person based on mere appearances.

Quite frankly, I was ashamed.

I should know better. 

We should know better to judge people based on appearances.

What makes a person beautiful is more then their physical.

True beauty comes from within.

And throughout the years I have learned that

The only person that isn't beautiful, 

Cannot see the beauty within others.

Better yet, the person who isn't beautiful 

Cannot see the beauty within themselves.

Elisabeth Kubler-Ross once said:

"People are like stained-glass windows. 

They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, 

But when the darkness sets in their true beauty is revealed 

Only if there is a light from within"

So readers, learn how to define YOUR beauty.

And make sure your beauty is not just superficial

Make sure your beauty comes from WITHIN
